LEGASPI CITY -- The initial talk (exploratory) held last Saturday, November 14 in this city between KabalikatNet Philippines Inc. (KbNet) led by the founder/National President Jennis Nidea (30-01) and an international non-government organization was a huge success and agreed to hold another round of dialogue before the year-end. The NGO, engaged in relief operations and rehabilitation of disaster stricken areas, agreed with the proposal of Nidea to organize Disaster and Rescue Teams (DART) in Bicol, Quezon and the National Capital region. Said NGO will provide funding support for the formation, trainings, rescue equipment and ambulance to each DART which will be composed of fifteen member-volunteers. Nidea also revealed that a project dubbed as "ADOPT-A-BARANGAY" will also be launched in Cam Sur, Cam. Norte, and Sorsogon. The "ADOPT-A-BARANGAY" project, according to Nidea will focus on disaste risk reduction management (DRRM). The 2 groups agreed to hold another round of dialogue before the end of 2009.
